INTERN WITH GIRL SCOUTS OF SOUTHERN ALABAMA

We’re looking for juniors, seniors or graduate students for unpaid internships (unless you consider cookies payment) in Finance, Program Development, IT and Public Relations. All interns will be given the opportunity to work in areas other than their specific job function, affording each individual a well-rounded experience by being exposed to all aspects of our business (and we don ’t mean learning how to work the copier).

Finance
Candidates should be majoring in accounting or finance and be proficient in MS Word and Excel. Desired
skills: strong communication skills (verbal and written); highly motivated and detail oriented; able to work independently and have excellent follow through with projects;accuracy and thoroughness are especially important. Responsibilities will be determined to meet organizational and student needs.

Program Development
Candidates should possess a strong interest in program development and to further pursue a career in a related field. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must; good organizational skills and attention to details and deadlines. Enthusiastic and eager to learn; professional, ability to multi-task, flexible, courteous telephone manner.

IT
Under the general supervision of the IT Team Leader, this candidate will be responsible for assisting with administration and support of the organization ’s computer system maintenance routines; documenting standard operating procedures and problem solutions; and providing ongoing support and education to staff who use the organization's management information systems. Skills include: Self-starter with ability to manage multiple tasks to completion. Attention to detail and a strong grasp of computer program problem solving with excellent interpersonal skills. Technical Skills: MS Office experience.

PR
A people person, outgoing, computer savvy, Microsoft Office skills needed for youth-oriented projects.We are looking for someone with web development skills (not required, but helpful), and interest in the Interactive Media industry. We also need expert web surfers, who know the top blogs, top viral humor (videos and pictures) Web sites, or other similar sites that would appeal to teen and college-age audiences, and be interested in development of appealing interactive media for our organization.
