January 2024 PRCA-MGM Monthly Meeting

Our January speaker is Beth Chapman. Beth was elected Alabama’s 51st Secretary of State in 2006 and reelected in 2010 having first been elected and serving four years as State Auditor. Prior to her time in public office, she was the State Executive Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for 10 years.

Secretary Chapman received her B.S. Degree in Communications from the University of Montevallo and her master’s degree (magna cum laude) in Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She completed the Executives in State Government Management Institute from Princeton University and graduated from the Senior Executives in State Government program at Harvard.

After 13 years in public office, also working for a Governor and a Lt. Governor as press secretary, she retired from public life to work in the private sector. She owns and operates Beth Chapman & Associates, LLC, a political and public relations firm which she and her husband started 27 years ago. Her clients include major corporations and non-profit organizations.

Chapman has self-published several books, one being an Amazon Best Seller and one receiving the George Washington Freedom Medal from the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge. She has also written two speeches which have been entered into the Congressional Record.

Chapman has served on multiple civic and charitable boards across the state, getting her start in the Birmingham Chapter of PRCA which she credits in part for preparing her for her career.
