Everyone knows the song, and the hand movements (Y-M-C-A), but do you know the story of the brand? The YMCA has arguably been a vital player in communities across the country since its inception. During this meeting Lara Wilson, VP of Mission Advancement of the YMCA of Greater Montgomery and long-time PRCA Montgomery member, will share the evolution of their brand, as well as their resources and assets.
Lara Wilson has nearly 20 years of experience working in public relations, communications and marketing for membership-based non-profits and was most recently named a Senior Practitioner by the Southern Public Relations Federation. Presently, she serves as VP of Mission Advancement of the YMCA of Greater Montgomery and was recently named the first Executive Director of the Alabama and Mississippi YMCA State Alliance. In her roles, she works in communication, membership, marketing, diversity and inclusion and advocacy work for YMCAs across Alabama and Mississippi.
During her tenure as VP of Mission Advancement of the YMCA of Greater Montgomery, she has helped lead the YMCA of Greater Montgomery to record-breaking revenue numbers in membership, program, and contributions.
Lara received her Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from Auburn University.
