Leading when the World is on Fire

Tasha Scott

Tasha brings over 15 years working with organizations in leadership development, team building, and personal growth. Leaders will learn how to define the problem, battle distractions, and overcome challenges in times of uncertainty. Participants will learn how to have crucial conversations and be a more effective leader.

Tasha M. Scott is an Independent Executive Director with the John Maxwell Team. Her responsibilities include Executive Leadership Training, Coaching, and Keynote Speaking nationally and internationally. She is also a Certified D.I.S.C. Personality Assessment Consultant under the Maxwell brand. In addition, Tasha owns Maximized Growth, LLC where she serves nonprofits, state agencies, and for-profit

businesses of all sizes through workshop facilitation, leadership training, team development, and executive coaching. She is a graduate of Leadership Montgomery, Class XXXIII, and was recently selected as a member of Leadership Alabama, Class XXXI. Tasha thrives on helping individuals and organizations bridge communication gaps that lead to progressive growth.

Planning and Pivoting

Kadie Agnew 

Kadie Agnew is Communications and Marketing Manager for Baptist Health which provides

comprehensive healthcare for the citizens of Central Alabama. Together with Maghen Barranco, social

media consultant for Baptist Health, Kadie will discuss how the COVID-19 Coronavirus Crisis affected their

social media planning efforts along with how they had to pivot to communicate the Coronavirus resources

they provide for our community.


“Successful communicators engage both the minds and the hearts of people.” This

is the mantra that Kadie tries to follow personally and professionally. Serving as the

Communications and Marketing Manager for Baptist Health and being a brand new

Mom, Kadie knows that every great relationship begins with good communication.

An award-winning broadcast journalist, Agnew is no stranger to the art of

storytelling. In her current role, Kadie has the privilege of writing and pitching

stories that are focused on the incredible events and people within Baptist Health.

A proud graduate of Auburn University, Agnew currently serves as the Vice

President of Communications for the Junior League of Montgomery and was

recently named a “Woman to Watch” by this organization. She is a member of the

Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development, Alabama Hospital Association, Public Relations

Association, and past board member of the Public Relations Council of Alabama.

Maghen Barranco

Maghen’s passion for social media and the growing rate at which organizations

around the world are using social to market themselves is what brought her to Stamp

Idea Group. Her strengths include creating social media content and plans as well as

assisting with the day-to-day social media management for clients. A graduate of The

University of Alabama in 2014 with a degree in Public Relations, she enjoys the

intertwining of public relations, marketing and advertising to connect with new

audiences through social media. Maghen worked in social and digital marketing in

Charlotte, NC and San Diego, CA prior to joining Stamp.

Crisis Communications for the Everyday

Madonna Walsh

Crisis communications specialist Madonna Walsh will walk attendees through the four parts of developing a crisis communications plan for your organization. This includes defining a crisis; identifying a spokesperson; establishing communications channels; and annual actions an organization needs to take to stay on top of their crisis plan. Madonna will also cover the impact social media has had on the “Golden Hour” and incorporating crisis communications into everyday planning.

Madonna is a writer and corporate communications specialist with more than 20

years of experience, 17 leading crisis communications for business continuity teams in the U.S., Europe and the Middle East. She has conducted integrated communications activities on six continents, working across multiple disciplines and industries, including aerospace, technology and transportation. She recently completed her master’s degree in Threat & Response Management at theUniversity of Chicago. In her spare time, Madonna conducts crisis communications training for executive teams and is a disaster dispatcher for the American Red Cross.

Adobe Q&A (Any question answered)

Kevin Smith

Kevin is versatile in numerous Adobe Cloud software products and teaches students daily how to use the tools inherent in each product properly, effectively, and for maximum efficiency. If you would like to know what buttons work best for specific edits in Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, etc. for editing, publishing, and creating graphics for your organization, or if you would like to know if Adobe is right for your organization, this is the session for you.

Kevin Smith is currently an associate professor in the area of media studies in the School of Communication and Journalism at Auburn University. As co- creator of the Visual Media track, Kevin focuses on the aspects of visual storytelling. As media channels evolve, Kevin has concentrated his interests from graphic design, to cinematography, 2D and 3D motion graphics in filmmaking and currently augmented reality. Kevin places emphasis on their incorporation into the overall visual storytelling process. Kevin’s body of work has received recognition both internationally and nationally including design competition awards, work in books, magazine features, and state archival permanent collection inclusion.

Explore photo editing techniques from a seasoned photographer in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom, a great option for PR Practitioners. Learn how to edit photos of people for newsletters, social media, and press stories. The session will explore lighting edits, presets, and so much more to make a Public Relations Professional’s job easier!
